Alsaa Drop-in Singles
The Alsaa Drop-in Singles reached its completion last week, with Matt Hann coming out victorious in the scratch section.
Hann posted scores of 269 and 217 to beat Aidan Byrne (227, 211) in the final.
Hann had reached the quarter-finals as the number one seed, and cemented his hold on the competition when he beat eighth seed Ciaran Doyle in the quarters. He then pipped Paul Stott in the semi-finals to take his place in the final.
Byrne, the number 4 seed, beat Chris Sloane in the quarter-finals after the two-hander had a disastrous 124. Byrne went on to defeat Alan McDonnell in the semis before eventually losing to Hann in the final.
In the handicap section, Keogh went into the quarter-finals as the number 3 seed, and was pitted against his father, the 6th seed. Keogh advanced in the family affair, posting scores of 196, 225 and 243.
In the semis Keogh took on number 8 seed Andrei Baratu, who shocked the number 1 seed Ray Lynch in the quarters. Keogh halted the charge, however, with games 266 and 236 for a comfortable victory.
The final proved to be relatively comfortable for Keogh also, defeating Amanda Larkin with games of 227 and 231 to take the top prize. Larkin had bowled a 293 in the semis, but she could not continue that top form and had to settle for second place.
Congratulations to both winners, runners-up and all those who made the Finals section of the competition.
